Stellar Structure in a Newtonian Theory with Variable G

چکیده

A Newtonian-like theory inspired by the Brans–Dicke gravitational Lagrangian has been recently proposed us. For static configurations, coupling acquires an intrinsic spatial dependence within matter distribution. Therefore, interior of astrophysical configurations may provide a testable environment for this approach as long no screening mechanism is evoked. In work, we focus on stellar hydrostatic equilibrium structure in such varying Newtonian G scenario. modified Lane–Emden equation presented and its solutions various values polytropic index are discussed. The role played parameter ω, analogue parameter, physical properties stars

Stellar footprints of a variable G

Theories with varying gravitational constant G have been studied since long time ago. Among them, the most promising candidates as alternatives of the standard General Relativity are known as scalar-tensor theories. They provide consistent descriptions of the observed universe and arise as the low energy limit of several pictures of unified interactions. Therefore, an increasing interest on the...

A MODIFIED THEORY OF NEWTONIAN MECHANICS

A specific form of the inertial law is presented by which we can gain a deeper insight into the essence of mass and inertia. In this modified theory, there is no need to keep the concept of absolute space and Newton's third law as principles, By introducing a convenient form for gravitational law the coupling constant G becomes a function of inertial parameters of the universe

Stellar evolution with a variable mixing - length

By simulating the convection in the upper layers of seven diierent stars and matching these simulations to 1D mixing-length models using the same input physics, we have been able to infer the behaviour of the T-relation and the mixing-length parameter, , as the stellar parameters change. We have then used this knowledge in stellar evolution calculations, in order to investigate the consequences...

Variable stars in Stellar Systems

We discuss in detail the pulsation properties of variable stars in globular clusters (GCs) and in Local Group (LG) dwarf galaxies. Data available in the literature strongly support the evidence that we still lack a complete census of variable stars in these stellar systems. This selection bias is even more severe for small-amplitude variables such as Oscillating Blue Stragglers (OBSs) and new e...
